Emergency Sewer System Cleaning

National Works, Inc. provides services for eliminating blockages and obstructions from both sanitary and storm sewer systems. Whether you need a vacuum truck to alleviate surcharged manholes and inlets, a jetter truck to remove debris and sediment with high pressure jetting, or to dislodge troublesome root balls or grease with mechanical cleaning, we have the latest technology and trained experts to respond 24/7.

Hydro-Excavation

Hydro-excavation allows asset owners and contractors to locate utilities up to 20 feet in depth. This process creates a dirt slurry utilizing pressurized water that is vacuumed by the vactor truck on site. Hydro-excavation is minimally invasive, safer, and less expensive compared to traditional methods of excavation.

Internal Point Repairs

National Works, Inc. installs the latest no dig structural point repairs to remediate cracks, holes, inflow and infiltration (I&I), and offset joints in sanitary and storm sewer systems. Internal point repairs installed by National Works, Inc. are 100% trenchless with no excavation require. These non-invasive stainless-steel internal point repairs are guided by a cctv camera into the sewer system then expanded at the point of potential failure with a pressurized bladder. NWI provides these services in pipe sizes ranging from 6”-48” in diameter.

Sewer Testing

National Works, Inc. provides these additional services to complement our portfolio of trenchless rehabilitation services.

Mandrel Testing

A test performed to ensure that a newly installed pipe has no deformities and has adequate clearance. This is done by pulling a mandrel, which is a tool with metal rods and extending metal fingers, through the entirety of the pipe. If the mandrel makes it through the pipe without any issue, then there are no issues or blockages. If the mandrel stops, that means there is typically a problem area such as an offset or the pipe may be misshapen due to improper backfill.

Air Testing

Alongside mandrel testing, low-pressure air testing is done to ensure proper installation of the pipe. This is done by ensuring there are no separated joints or holes in the pipe. What determines if a specific section of pipe passes this test is if the pipe can hold a certain amount of air pressure for a specific duration based on the internal diameter and volume of the pipe. National Works, Inc. has trained staff that safely and efficiently perform low-pressure air tests.

Smoke Testing

This method of assessment utilizes non-toxic smoke that is inserted into certain access points of the sanitary sewer system. The smoke makes its way through any cracks, voids, holes, and offsets not only in the main sewer system main line, but also through the services and manholes.

Manhole Vacuum Testing

This test is typically performed after a manhole has been installed and the joints are sealed, but before any protective coating is applied. Incoming connections must be plugged and sealed prior to vacuum testing. Utilizing the latest technology in vacuum testing, National Works, Inc. will ensure a manhole passes the test per the asset owners’ specification.
